Which video encoder do you use for 360 video?

  • Hi everyone,

We are curious which videoencoder is the best choice to output a range of video files to make the krpano 360 videoplayer work on different devices.
Since the 1.19.7 version we encountered a difference in the behaviour of the player, and it worked out that our video's were not working anymore on Android.

This is our actual setup, making use of 3 different programmes to get the necesarry output to make 360 video work:

    1. iOS video > Handbrake video converter (MP4, Baseline encoding - low-res)
    2. Internet Explorer > Handbrake video converter (MP4, Baseline encoding - 1920x960)
    3. Android > Miro Video Encoder (MP4, Anroid pre-set 1920x960)
    4. MP3 > Adobe Media Encoder (128kb)

This is the 'easiest' workflow that we've found out till now, but it's quite time consuming to prepare a single video to use on a website.
Therefore I'm curious how you handle this, and what your toolset is to prepare the files with ease.

    Regards,

    Martin Wijnbergen
