virtual tours for non flat screens

I work in a facility with both a cylinder shaped screen and an iDome. We have hardware warp/blend units to map the projection to the surface. We would like to be able to use krpano (and by extension Panotour) to do virtual tours on these displays.
Our problem is that the camera models seem designed for a flat screen and the closest i have come to getting the correct result is to put a native cylindrical pano into a flat pano (for our cylinder) The limitations of this is that krpano thinks its just a regular image so it does not tile around (we would like to have it pan around multiple revolutions for example).
The nature of these displays means we can just open up a native cylinder or spherical pano in something like powerpoint and it will display with the correct geometry (but without wrapping etc). We would love to have this functionality in krpano for the purposes of virtual tours.
