Beginners question about imagemap

Hi there,
I have been using krpano in a very basic way - literally just using the make vtour droplet, but now want to start doing more with it. I have NO IDEA how to implement the imagemap plugin - I've looked at other forum threads which point me to the example scene with image map which I have had a look at, but I can find no instructions for where to start. I know it's a matter of including stuff in the xml file, but I really don't know where to start. I have the images, and the maps ready to go now if someone can kindly point me to some basic instructions then I'm itching to get going.
