Hi,
do you mean the mouse cursor position - x/y?
or the position in the pano(sphere) - ath/atv?
best regards,
Klaus
i agree a plugin that would show the current ath and atv would be ideal for placing hotspots. currently i add the editior and zoom in as far as i can to where i want to place the hotspot and record the ath and atv.
Hi,
but you could also use the editor plugin to "move" the hotspots to the right position?
anyway - here is such plugin:
cursorposition.zip
it displays the ath/atv at the current mouse position.
best regards,
Klaus
excellent. thank you very much.
I think I saw somewhere that there is a "distorted hotspots" in the new version. What is that ? I am still looking for a "nice" way to show there is a hotspot.

mick
ok , found it.
That is realy great!!!
Can I a request?...
It will be perfect for me, if I click with the mouse on the screen, then the plugin can write theese coordinatas , in a txt, or xml file.
Then I will can reckon with theese.And I can measure the distance fron 2 panoramas..
Klaus!

Hi,
you could use the editor plugin
draw a polygonal hotspot and then watch the xml,
the point ath/atv values are the coordinations of the points
best regards,
Klaus
Thanks, but it is not good, for me....
I can this, but the user (visitor) is not.
If the visitor select a point, and an other we will calculate a distance.
This I cant get forvard...
I dont no if you understand..
Anyone else?

Hi,
I also had some thoughts about measuring distance in panoramas. To do this, we need two panoramic images. Knowing the exact distance between the two points from witch the two photos were taken, we just need the third point, to build a right triange and calculate the distance using pythagorean theorem.
So it would be terrific if we could catch the coordinates of the (visitors) mouse pointer when clicked after an event (e.g. clicking a ruler button) and send it to a neat little script that would give us the desired results!
In my belief, this feature would widen horizons!

I haven't looked at the plugin klaus provided... but if the coordinates were assigned to a variable... the variables could be passed to a javascript function that did some math and passed back to krpano as new variables that you could display.

Hi,
that could be already done with a small plugin or javascript code,
e.g.
here is a small plugin that makes the current mouse position accessible via javascript:
get mouse position
(note the next 1.0.8 beta 9 has this functionality (mouse.x / mouse.y) integrated)
and with the "screentosphere()" function you can convert this mouse coordinates
to spherical ath/atv coordinates,
e.g.
include the jsmouse.swf plugin in the xml
and do this in javascript:
var krpano = document.getElementById("krpanoSWFObject");
var mousex = krpano.get("mouse.x");
var mousey = krpano.get("mouse.y");
var hvs= krpano.get("screentosphere("+mousex +","+mousey +")");
var hva= hvs.split(",");
var ath= Number( hva[0] );
var atv= Number( hva[1] );
...

Morgen Klaus,
I download your examplefile. I can see the pano, but the mouscoordinates do not show up on the right side of the screen. *unsure*. Could you please check
Thanks
Hi,
do you test locally/offline?
in this case you need to change the flash security settings,
the javascript interface is disabled by default when running flash locally/offline,
see here:
https://krpano.com/docu/localaccess/
best regards,
Klaus
Yes, I was offline.
Ok thanks, it's working now

Frank
