Notes for using the krpano Flash viewer locally / offline
When using the Flashplayer locally / offline then the
External Interface of the Flashplayer
is disabled for security reasons by default.
This
External Interface is necessary for all kind of external access:
The krpano viewer will show this warning in the krpano trace log when it is not available:
WARNING: ExternalInterface NOT available
Additionally it's possible to check interactively if the interface is available via the global
haveexternalinterface variable.
To allow a local running Flash programs using the External Interfaces the Flashplayer provides
the so called trusted folders. Flash files in a such trusted folder can use all External Interfaces
also locally. To add own folders to that trusted folders see the following instructions:
1. Start the Flashplayer
Settings manager.
Either direct in the Flashplayer via right-click and "Global Settings" or via this
link.
Then the Settings Manager will open itself in a new browser window.
2. Select the
Global Security Settings Panel.
3. Click on
Edit locations... and then
Add location...
4. Select
Browse for folders... and look for the folder which contains the
Flash .swf file and select that folder, then click
Confirm.
5. After that the folder should appear in the list below.
6. Done.
The browser window with the Settings Manager can be closed now, the new Flashplayer
security settings were saved automatically.
Now the given folder and all sub-folders are trusted. All Flash files in these folders
can use the External Interfaces.
